The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League Scholarships, established in 1975, are offered to students who are
residents of Fanwood or Scotch Plains. Local students who will graduate from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High
School or other area high schools in 2024 or local residents who are currently attending college or vocational
school are eligible to apply. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of a student’s record of volunteer service
and community involvement plus financial need, evidence of financial self-help, and academic promise. In 2023, nine students received a total of $24,000 in scholarships for the academic year. The Service League’s Scholarship Committee screens all applications and determines the amount and number of awards in May of each year.
